The HowDidiDo charge, costed for your club

The new HowDidiDo app costs members £2.99 or £9.99 a year, or the club £1,400. We've costed it for clubs of 400, 600 and 800 members, beside an app of your own.

Updated October 2026. Prices checked against Club Systems' website and the UK App Store on 8 October 2026.

Since 12 January 2026, members at ClubV1 clubs have needed the new HowDidiDo app to book and enter competitions on their phones, and it costs them £2.99 a year with adverts or £9.99 without. Or the club pays £1,400 a year and every member gets it ad-free. Here's what that comes to for a club your size, next to the cost of giving members an app of your own.

The sums, before the committee meets

  • 400 members paying their own way: £1,196 a year on the £2.99 app, or £3,996 ad-free.
  • 600 members: £1,794, or £5,994 ad-free.
  • 800 members: £2,392, or £7,992 ad-free.
  • The club pays instead: £1,400 a year, on top of your ClubV1 subscription. Club Systems calls that figure a limited time offer.
  • Tuvabook: £1,788 a year (£149 a month), and that's the whole system, with an app in your club's name included.

What changed

Club Systems, which makes ClubV1, and intelligentgolf are both owned by ClearCourse. Between them they built one new HowDidiDo app to replace the old HowDidiDo app, the ClubV1 Members Hub and igMember. It launched for ClubV1 clubs on 12 January 2026, and The Golf Business reported in March that intelligentgolf clubs would move across in the coming months.

It's a new download. Every one of your members has to install it and register again with the email address the club holds for them. On the UK App Store it has 3.1 out of 5 from 70 ratings (October 2026). And for the first time, it carries a charge.

Club Systems rebuilt the app and now charges for it. Software costs money; that part is fair. The part worth a committee's attention is that the member app has just become a line on your budget, and a line on your budget is a decision you get to make.

The two ways to pay for HowDidiDo

Members pay. The club spends nothing. Each member who wants the app pays £2.99 a year and sees adverts in it, or £9.99 to remove them. Everyone else uses the HowDidiDo website, which stays free, with adverts.

The club pays. £1,400 a year covers every member, ad-free. At 400 members that's £3.50 a head, at 800 it's £1.75. Club Systems describes the price as a limited time offer, so budget for it to change.

Either way, your members download a new app that Club Systems chose, that carries Club Systems' name, and that the club doesn't control.

The third way: an app with your club's name on it

Your members are downloading something new this year whichever way the committee goes. That makes this the cheapest moment in years to move them onto an app of your own, because you're asking for one download, and they were about to do one anyway. We've written up what members notice when the app carries the club's name.

Tuvabook gives your club its own app on the App Store and Google Play, with your name, your crest and your colours. Here's what it does for the people in the room:

  • The treasurer. £149 a month for a single club, no setup fee, month to month. That's £1,788 a year for the tee sheet, online booking, memberships, competitions and lessons together, not an app fee on top of a system you already pay for.
  • The members. The app is free to every member and there are no adverts in it. A member books Saturday's 7:30 in a few taps, at the member rate or as part of their subs, however your club runs it.
  • The office. Guests and visitors pay in full when they book, so the green fee is in the club's own account before they arrive, and a no-show has already paid. Members move or cancel their own bookings inside the rules you set, so the phone goes quiet.
  • The competition secretary. Entries, draws, live scoring and results run in the app, with handicap limits taken from each member's index.

On handicaps: your members' Handicap Index lives with England Golf, not with an app. They add their CDH ID and index in the Tuvabook app, we use those for competition entry and handicap limits, and your handicap system carries on exactly as it does now.

How the move works

We move your tee sheet, prices and member list across for you, you check everything over, and you're live in three weeks. A decision at the autumn budget meeting has members settled in the new app long before the season.

The timing is on your side. The subs letter goes out weeks before renewal on 1 January or 1 April. Put the new app in that letter once, so members hear about it from the club rather than from an app store prompt. We're a small UK team, and the person who sets up your tee sheet is the person who answers when you ring in September.

Cost it for your club

Send us your membership count and what you pay for ClubV1 or intelligentgolf today, and we'll send back a one-page comparison your committee can read in two minutes. Or book a demo and we'll show you the app with your club's name already on it.

If you're weighing the whole system as well as the app, we've set out Tuvabook against ClubV1 and Tuvabook against intelligentgolf row by row, and what's included in the £149.

Common questions

Do members have to pay for the new HowDidiDo app?

Unless the club pays, yes. Golfers pay £2.99 a year with adverts or £9.99 a year without, after a 14-day free trial. The HowDidiDo website stays free, with adverts.

How much is the HowDidiDo club licence?

£1,400 a year, covering every member with the ad-free app. Club Systems calls it a limited time offer, so ask what it will cost afterwards.

Does this affect intelligentgolf clubs?

Yes. The Golf Business reported in March 2026 that intelligentgolf clubs would move from igMember to HowDidiDo in the coming months. If yours hasn't yet, the same sums apply when it does.

What does Tuvabook cost?

£149 a month for a single club, with no setup fee and no contract to run out. Members pay nothing for the app, and golfers never pay a booking fee. The full breakdown is on our pricing page.

Will we lose our handicaps if we move?

No. Handicap records sit with England Golf under the World Handicap System, not with the booking app. Members add their CDH ID and index in the Tuvabook app, and competition entries and limits use them from day one.
